The
EarthRam catalog currently features two products:
_The CinvaRam block press
_The InterlockRam block press.
Both
are used to produce
from an earth & cement mixture
4'x 6" x 12" blocks
(and 2" x 6" x 12" tiles) which are used for
the construction of
houses, walls, floors and walkways.
|
|
|

They
can be removed
from the machine immediately
after pressing and stacked for curing
which requires generally no more than
7 or 8 days.
|
Blocks
made in this fashion have structural qualities
superior to kilned brick and
other masonry materials. (see copy of
US National Bureau of Standards report)
|
Having
uniform dimensions, sharp edges and smooth
surfaces, they are easy
to lay.
|
These blocks being of heavier density
require
NO surface protection
but may be easily
painted or otherwise
treated if desired.
|
In
many areas, these blocks can be produced
at about 1/15th
to 1/20th the cost of conventional cement
block if produced by the owner.
|
Both
machines are all
steel, tough, durable and designed
for long, hard use with a minimum
of maintenance.

Where the CinvaRam
and InterlockRam differ
is mainly the interlocking feature of the Interlock
Ram product. This allows for ease of laying up straight
walls after the first course and is very helpful
especially for those with little or no masonry
experience. However, due to the machining required
and the additional shipping, handling and associated
costs of importation, it is more expensive than
the Cinva-Ram . Finally, the remaining different
is in weight and therefore, portability. The Cinva-Ram
weighs in at about 160 lb. while the Interlock machine
is nearly double at 260 lb.
